Children's Halls and After School Child Care Centers

Children's Halls (Jidokan)

As facilities built to support the healthy growth of children through play activities from infancy through high school, these centers hold their own independent lectures and events. There are 14 centers in the city. There is no admission fee, but young children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

After School Child Care Centers (Gakudo Club)

These clubs are for young elementary school children (1st through 4th grade) who need after-school care because their parents work or are unable to care for them at home due to illness. These facilities provide living guidance through activities that focus on play. There are 28 in the city.
Hours
Weekdays: After school until 6:00 p.m.
Spring, summer, winter breaks: 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (children must bring their own lunch)
School holidays (Saturdays): 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (children must bring their own lunch)

Family Support Center

With the goal of supporting community childcare, this center provides fee-based babysitting coordination services, matching up people who have children that need to be watched (family members) with people who are available to watch children (support members). The center is managed by the Council of Social Welfare under an agreement with Nishitokyo City.
Fee: 800 yen to 1,000 yen (per hour)
Hours: 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
